Punnett squares are a type of method to show what traits you might receive. The top section represents the mothers genes, and the left side of the square represents the fathers genes.. All the little squares within the larger square represents the genes their children will have. Let's say the big s represents tall and the little s represents short. The fathers genes are all short. The mothers genes are all tall. The dominant trait is tall and recessive trait is short.  Since the dominant trait over does the recessive trait. All of their children will be tall.
